Hello one and all,
It is that time of year again to ponder about our Savior and to reflect on the events and lessons of the past year and to discover new ways to love and serve others (as well as to read oodles of Christmas cards from family and friends). With our recent move to Utah, we are all thrilled to be able to spend this holiday season with our family and friends in Utah. Mark and I both have fond memories of Christmas in Utah, snow and all.

As for happenings in the McKell family this year we've seen some rough patches yet through it all recognize our abundant blessings. We started in January in our new residence of 6 months in Battle Ground, Washington. We were happy and looking forward to many years there. About mid-June we had very strong promptings that something wasn't quite right and that we needed to be somewhere else. It took several days to even consider uttering the words 'move to Utah'. But, after much prayer and careful consideration we were compelled to make the move.
One week after making this decision, we (Heather and Mark) were involved in a terrible and fatal car crash in Oregon. By some great miracle, Mark and I were spared, suffering only minor aches and pains, though our hearts still grieve for the loss that others have endured. This experience, along with answers to more prayers, convinced us even more to continue with our decision to move. With lots of help from friends we were able to move in time for the boys to start school in late August. We are living in Layton at Heather's dad's house while our house sells.

So here we are (as Heather's Grandma would say) back in "Gods Country". The boys have adjusted very well to school at East Layton Elementary (where Heather also attended as a child) and Mark is still working from home for IMS. We are anxious to see what the next few months bring and where the new year takes us.

We know the Lord hears our prayers and loves each of us beyond our capacities to understand. Among the most prized gifts we receive are our ever expanding families and our wealth of friends—new and old. We wish each of you a happy Christmas and an abundant start to 2008. Love the post and all the pics. We are so glad that you all decided to move to Utah and be close to us. It has been so fun to have you guys here and spend more time with you all.
